I was born and raised in Austin, Texas. I have lived in Yolo County almost 30 years, in Woodland for the last five. Before becoming an attorney, I worked in financial positions in both small and large companies, and worked as an enrolled agent and a professional fiduciary. Because of that experience, I bring a breadth to my practice which helps me visualize how best to address my clients’ desires and concerns into their planning. I am active in Woodland Rotary, Woodland United Way, the Woodland Chamber of Commerce, the Yolo Bar Association, and in my church. When not working, volunteering, or spending time with my children and grandchildren, I love to travel, both in the U.S. and internationally.

We help people obtain conservatorships when needed to safeguard vulnerable elders, and help elders do planning to obtain VA or Medi-Cal benefits for nursing home care.

Dr. Lisa Heuer grew up in Chicago and completed an undergraduate degree in biomedical engineering from Northwestern University in 1995. After a ten-year career in the medical device industry, she decided to pursue a career change and a doctorate of optometry degree at the UC Berkeley School of Optometry. Her training at UC Berkeley included clinical externships at the Sac State health center where she cared for students and staff on the campus. Dr. Heuer also studied ocular disease while caring for our veterans at the VA Eye Clinics in Reno and Fresno prior to graduating from UC Berkeley in 2009. Dr. Heuer lives in Davis with her husband, Alex, and their black labrador, Izzie. Her favorite pastimes are hiking, backpacking, and snowshoeing in the Sierra Nevada.
